Contribution Guidelines

Welcome to the King Pharmaceuticals Contribution Guidelines page. Below, we have outlined the criteria we evaluate when providing financial support for a program or initiative. If you have any questions regarding the status of your application, or require clarification with regard to our application process, please contact us.

We generally give high priority to the following:

  • Programs that benefit communities where we operate
  • Programs that provide food, shelter, health care, and basic services for disadvantaged persons
  • Projects that satisfy unmet needs in the community without duplicating other programs or services
  • Activities that offer services to broad audiences rather than selected groups or associations
  • Initiatives that are in alignment with King’s philosophy and company culture
  • Programs that clearly define and measure goals

We exclude funding for the following:

  • Programs that discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin
  • Organizations that do not have IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
  • Individuals (as opposed to group-based initiatives)
  • Political organizations, candidates and campaigns
  • Deficit reduction, loans, investments, endowments and capital campaigns
  • Operating expenses such as salaries, rent and equipment
  • Fraternal, labor and social organizations
  • Athletic team or league sponsorships and travel expenses
  • Sponsorship of golf tournaments, sporting events and teams
  • Event, pageant or conference sponsorships and expenses
  • Expenses for community fund-raising events
  • Trips, tours and uniform expenses
  • Tickets for contests, raffles and events
  • Production of videos, books, films, CDs and DVDs
  • Advertising in programs, bulletins, yearbooks and brochures
  • Religious organizations
  • Affiliates of organizations that already receive funding from King Pharmaceuticals in the same service area
  • Profit-making charity organizations
  • Private-practice physicians
  • Nonscientific or medical grants and projects
